Piano Tuning | Repair & Restoration | Bristol & Bath
What can I expect from a tuner? The biggest part of my work is to listen to what you want, to understand the feel and sound you need, and then listen to your piano and understand what it needs.
A tuning usually takes about an hour, but if it hasn’t been tuned for a long time it might take a bit longer. If it has been several years since it was last tuned I might have to make two visits to achieve a stable tuning (one that won't ‘slip’). For most people with light use of their piano, I think a tuning once a year is plenty. |
How much does it cost?
A tuning costs £85-£95 depending on your location and needs. This includes an initial consultation and assessment of your piano, full tuning, and minor repairs such as sticking notes and squeaky pedals. If my assessment suggests more significant repairs are needed I will discuss this before I begin the tuning. All other repairs and services are priced individually, and only after I have seen the piano and understood what you need. |
What about repairs?
I regularly carry out large and small repairs and restorations on pianos - my services include:

Where I work – Bristol and beyond
I am a keen cyclist so don’t be surprised to find me at your door with a courier bag of specialist tools and a classic single-gear bicycle. I am based in central Bristol, and travel by bike, train and bus for all my work. My patch covers roughly the area from Thornbury in the North to Wells in the South, the Bristol channel in the West and Bath in the East. I do travel further for longer jobs, or if I can combine several clients, so it is worth contacting me if you’re a little further afield. |
